Everything about the Ecuadorian Amazon is awe-inspiring.

With rivers are so wide you can barely see the other side; supersized kapok trees and electric blue morph butterflies the array of wildlife will amaze you. Each acre of these forests along the banks of the Napo River has more biodiversity than almost the whole of North America, yet the thrill of spotting tamarind monkeys, giant otters, toucans, boa constrictors, caimans or owls never diminishes. The dark water creeks are the canals that lead you further away from civilization and deeper into the wild.

Though you are literally in the thick of it all, comfort is at the heart of the experience. The lodges blend so seamlessly into their surroundings that the guests feel as one with nature. Watch giant otters duck, dive and call to each other as you eat your meals, caiman’s glide under the walkway as you head back to your room, monkeys {talking} outside your balcony, and giant sloths hanging by the trees near your cabins.

This is definitely a trip for the adventurous. The lodges are so entrenched in the Amazon to provide you with the most natural surrounding that in order to get to these lodges you need to take a short flight (approx. 1/2 hour)  then board a motorized canoe (2 hour ride), then walk for 10 minutes followed by another short canoe ride (10-15 minutes). Your journey is part of the experience you will not get anywhere else. One you have arrived you will know why you came.
